Toscana IGT Rosso "Poggionero" 2020 - Castelfalfi

Poggionero is a red wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes with typical international notes. The richness of the soils in which the two vines grow is expressed in the structure of this great wine, thanks to the symbiosis between fresh soils, mild climate and morning breezes from the sea. The long period of aging in barrique gives complexity to the wine, increasing its organoleptic quality and ennobling the tannic texture. With an intense ruby red color with purple reflections in youth, it has a complex bouquet with elegant fruity, floral, toasted and spicy notes. The beginning of ripe fruit, with hints of blueberry, black cherry in spirit and plum jam, is enriched with pleasing notes of licorice, white pepper, tobacco and vanilla on the finish. The mouthfeel is soft and round, with an aromatic persistence recalling ripe fruit and wood.

The elegant tannic texture and the excellent structure perfectly accompany the traditional Tuscan dishes, based on game such as stewed wild boar but also roast veal, stewed meats, braised meats and aged cheeses.
