Toscana IGT Sangiovese "Poggio alla Fame" 2020 - Castelfalfi

In the Poggio alla Fame, the sangiovese grapes represents the highest expression of our territory. From a careful selection of the grapes followed by a small production, from our best vineyard, comes an authentic wine with an austere and elegant character. Visually it has a ruby red color with garnet reflections, bright and very lively. The nose is intense and complex, with delicate hints of ripe red and black fruits and floral notes of wild violet. The bouquet is enriched with balsamic, spicy and toasted notes, with tertiary aromas typical of the slow evolution of Sangiovese in big barrels. The rich and strong flavor is emphasized by an elegant tannin with fine grain and good sapidity. Poggio alla Fame, to be tasted young to enjoy the freshest hints of the sangiovese grapes, is a wine with an excellent acidity that makes it perfect for aging. The ability to evolve is therefore the key factor that allows to appreciate the complexity of this wine, which is enhanced with time by more mature and evolved aromas

The elegance and the harmonious body allow combinations with structured dishes such as red meats or dishes enriched with meat sauces, grilled meats and roasts, noble game such as wild boar and pheasant. It pairs perfectly with mushrooms, truffles and mature cheeses.
